“It is a perfect fertilizer for me…”
“I have been using Alfalfa Green for 4 years on my strawberries and potted orchard. It is a perfect fertilizer for me because it slowly releases nutrients into the soil every time it rains or I water, so there is no risk of fertilizer burn shocking the plants. An added benefit of Alfalfa Green is the alfalfa pellets soften and become a mulch, which helps control weeds and reduces water requirements. It is very easy to apply by hand or spreader and being that it is certified organic, I can feel confident that what I am applying to my plants is safe, and beneficial to the environment. I highly recommend Alfalfa Green.”
Dean Kreutzer – Over the Hill Orchards (2013)
“The pellets are an efficient and easy way to deliver nitrogen to plants, along with calcium- which can be a difficult element to make available to crops without altering soil pH…”
“On our certified organic vegetable farm we use Alfalfa Green pellets as a source of nutrition for a wide range of crops. The pellets are an efficient and easy way to deliver Nitrogen to plants, along with Calcium- which can be a difficult element to make available to crops without altering soil pH.
The 4 mm pellets flow easily through a drop spreader, or can be broadcast with a cyclone spreader. With adequate soil moisture the pellets quickly break down and release nutrients.
We use the Alfalfa Green pellets as a fertilizer for our potatoes because we are always concerned about the potential for pathogens and disease causing organisms that are sometimes present in composted animal manure. Potatoes respond well to Alfalfa Green.
We conducted a trial on our farm using Alfalfa Green on broccoli and celery. Sections of each crop were fertilized with i) compost only, ii) alfalfa only, and iii) compost/alfalfa blend. In both crops the clear winner was the compost/alfalfa blend, suggesting that compost organisms interact with Alfalfa Green in order to create a wider range of plant-available nutrients.”

“… the area containing Alfalfa Green is less compact than the control plot. This product was compatible with our equipment and easy to apply.”
“We have been test trialing Alfalfa Green Fertilizer as a topdressing material to help combat compaction in our parks. We have observed that the area containing Alfalfa Green is less compact than the control plot. This product was compatible with our equipment and easy to apply. The pellets blended well with the turf grass and were completely broken down within 14 days after applying. So far, we have seen desirable results and we will continue to test this product in the future.”
Jenna MacDonald B.Sc.- Landscape Technician, City of Medicine Hat (2012)
“…it’s very effective for adding organic matter & micronutrients into depleted soils and increasing microbial activity in the soil…”
“As an organic fertilizer, I really like this product as it is made from plant material rather than manure based products. I think the physical smell is pleasant rather than repulsive, it’s almost impossible to apply too much (no risk of burning plants), and it’s very effective for adding organic matter & micronutrients into depleted soils and increasing microbial activity in soil…
I highly recommend this product.”
Jared Fehr, Coordinator, Landscape & Horticulture Sustainability – Lakeland College (2017)
“We did not experience the extent of the salt problem as in the past and this year we are significantly increasing the rate of application due to the all-round value…”
“We applied Alfalfa Green for heirloom tomatoes in part to supply supplemental nutrients, in particular slow release Nitrogen, but in part to counteract salts that accumulated from continuous use of high [pH] water from our source. It was a very clean and convenient to work with. We did not experience the extent of the salt problem as in the past and this year we are significantly increasing the rate of application due to the all-round value we get from what is a special Certified Organic source of quality Alfalfa pellets on a high value crop.”
Simon Ffrench– Cookstown Greens (2014)
“I appreciate that your product is organic and that it has been steam treated to ensure that there are no viable weed seeds.”
“Your product is fantastic! I use it whenever I plant a new perennial sprinkling it in the planting hole with a bit of compost. I also use it the same way when planting out tomatoes and as a top dressing on established plants. It is especially effective for tall bearded iris. I appreciate that your product is organic and that it has been steam treated to ensure that there are no viable weed seeds,”
Lenore Linton– Winnipeg, MB (2006)
“I like the idea of no chance of burning because of over fertilization.”
“The plants are growing faster and [are] hardier. I like the idea of no chance of burning because of over fertilization. I feel so much more comfortable when the children come to play in my yard and I have not [used] a chemical on the grass.”
Norman Hydamanka– Normar Enterprises Ltd. (2006)
“… it is comforting to know that this product is safe for the environment and children while still maintaining quality and performing well.”
“I recently had the opportunity to try out the Alfalfa Green Fertilizer 3-0-2 on very badly damaged turf areas [some] of which were down to bare earth. After one application I witnessed a much improved thickness in the areas with the greatest damage.
I have just applied a second application and have witnessed once again increased vigor in these areas. We have tried the product on areas of high maintenance, residential and damaged areas. It has performed equally well and in the case of damaged areas has surpassed the performance of slow release chemical fertilizers.
Considering that we care for over four hundred children each week, it is comforting to know that this product is safe for the environment and children while maintaining high quality and performing well.”
Gordon Hobbs– Head Landscaper, Our Lady Queen of Peace Ranch (2010)
“I would recommend the product to anyone…”
“All flower pots, beds and baskets were amended with the Alfalfa Green before planting and the results were amazing… I would recommend the product to anyone, the Parks Department received numerous [compliments] from our residents about how wonderful our plantings looked. The plants were strong and healthy and lasted well into October before being removed for the season.”
Ken Jackson– Parks Supervisor, Town of Chestermere (2011)
“…I have peace of mind knowing that these organic pellets do not pose a health threat to Estevan’s citizens, children, or pets as they walk through our parks…”
“In an average year the City of Estevan plants approximately 10, 000 flowers in flower beds and pots. This year I was looking for a more convenient organic fertilizer option… The Alfalfa Green was easy to handle and apply and was more convenient than some inorganic fertilizers I’ve previously used which had to be mixed with water prior to applying. Most importantly, I have peace of mind knowing that these organic pellets do not pose a health threat to Estevan’s citizens, children, or pets as they walk through our parks; nor have they been detrimental to the health of any of my staff members who applied them.
In July I observed that the flowers seem to be doing better than in previous years. The blooms, leaves, and foliage appear larger and the colouring perhaps a bit deeper and vibrant than normal. The only change in our program this year is the addition of WAMCO’s Alfalfa Green Fertilizer.
Overall I like Alfalfa Green and will use it again in our flower program next year.”
Shannon Wanner– Urban Forestry/Green Space Technician, City of Estevan (2010)
“I believe the greatest benefit of this organic alfalfa product is it encourages microbial activity within the soils of our beds…”
“I wish to communicate the excellent results the City of Saskatoon Parks Branch has experienced with your Certified Organic Alfalfa Green [product].
Since 2006, the City of Saskatoon Parks Branch has been amending some Eastside perennial shrub beds and annual flower beds with your alfalfa pellets. We have found the alfalfa pellets… have definitely improved soil structure within our beds constructed over clay substrates. The slow release source of nitrogen and other micro elements available in the alfalfa product never burn our plants. I believe the greatest benefit of this organic alfalfa product is it encourages microbial activity within the soils of our beds providing a natural feeding of plant material. Another benefit is the organic alfalfa pellets fit so well with our continued goal of reduced pesticide use within City of Saskatoon parks.”
Gerald Rees– Parks Superintendent, City of Saskatoon (2011)
“We will continue using Alfalfa Green pellets in our farming program.”
“Our soil was in need of some nutrient inputs. As we are running a veganic carrot producing, our choices are limited. We came across Alfalfa Green pellets and thought we would give them a go. We have used these for the last two growing seasons. We are very impressed with the results that have come from using these. We have found them to be a great way of getting more organic matter into the soil, we have better water retention and they give the soil a much needed boost. We will continue using Alfalfa Green pellets in our farming program.”
Alistair Smith– Farm Manager, Fountainview Farms (2013)
“The Alfalfa Green was easy to spread and convenient as we did not have to worry about over applying.”
“The Alfalfa Green was easy to spread and convenient as we did not have to worry about over applying. As well, it’s nice that it is an organic product rather than being a synthetic chemical.
We found the results satisfactory and therefore in the spring of 2010 we purchased more Alfalfa Green. We used it on all of our 29 sports fields in June 2010. As we were once again pleased with the results on our sports fields, we will again be using Alfalfa Green on our sports fields as well as trying it on some of our flower beds and pots in 2011.”
Barb Holmes– Foreman Parks and Recreation, City of Fort Saskatchewan (2011)
“I certainly recommend using alfalfa pellets as a natural fertilizer for farmers and market gardeners growing high value crops.”
“We use alfalfa pellets as part of our nutrient program for our garlic crops. The size, shape, and density of the pellets make them very flowable and easy to work with. There is no hanging up in our applicator.
I certainly recommend using alfalfa pellets as a natural fertilizer for farmers and market gardeners growing high value crops.”
Darrel Schaab– The Garlic Garden (2015)
“The results were amazing!”
“This is the first year that I used Alfalfa Green pellets on a trial basis in my garden. I used it mainly for tomatoes, cabbage, peas, onions, zucchinis and hanging pots. The results were amazing! The plants grew bigger, had darker green leaves and produced much more and larger vegetables. I plan to expand the use of Alfalfa Green in my garden next year. Alfalfa Green is safe for the environment and there is no chance of burning from overuse of this slow release fertilizer and soil nutrient. I highly recommend to gardeners to use Alfalfa Green in your yard and garden.”
Glen Tymiak– Past President, Saskatchewan Horticultural Association (2012)
“…great way to boost nutrient levels in the soil…”
“Alfalfa green is a great way to boost the nutrient levels in the soil. The high amount of organic matter is very beneficial for the soil. It is feeding the soil and makes a great addition to our intensive amendment program for our greenhouse soil. ”
Andrew Mans – Mans Organics (2017)
“…I love the new product.”
“Personally, I love the new product. It is so much easier to spread. I put some on my lawn last fall and it greened up beautifully this spring. ”
Toby R. – Enviromasters, St. Albert (2017)
“I will continue using this product, and will expand my usage, in the years to come.”
“I’ve been using Alfalfa Green for 2 years on my ball diamonds and my soccer fields. The irrigation systems were installed at that time, and one other field has been irrigated and replanted just this year. The soil here is very sandy as we are only 20km from a desert. I feel that your product has improved the composition of the field soil immensely. My user groups have expressed their satisfaction with the fields as well. And I’m also happy with the price. I will continue using this product, and will expand my usage, in the years to come.”
Korey Pinkerton, Parks and Facilities Manager – Town of Maple Creek, SK (2014)
“I choose Alfalfa Green because it’s a good organic fertilizer, it helps buffer the effects of salt damage, it assists with keeping moisture in the soil, and it adds valuable nutrients to the soil.”
“Alfalfa Green Soil Nutrition Pellets have helped us to enhance our landscape maintenance program and health of the gardens at Mississaugua Golf and Country Club. Specifically, it has allowed us to grow quality perennials in areas that are exposed to road salt. After applying Alfalfa Green to the gardens, growing conditions improved which has resulted in greater leafing, colour, and quality of the blossoms. Thanks to [Alfalfa Green], it is safe to say that our plants are growing more vigorously with an extended period of blooming.
I choose Alfalfa Green because it’s a good organic fertilizer, it helps buffer the effects of salt damage, it assists with keeping moisture in the soil, and it adds valuable nutrients to the soil.”
Marek Palczewski, Gardener – Mississaugua Golf & Country Club (2012)
“There was a definite increase in soil quality…”
“I am writing this letter as a testimonial of the positive effects that we saw when we applied your Alfalfa product to our green spaces. There was a definite increase in soil quality which was noticeable by the dark green color of the grass in the areas that the product was applied. We also found that the grass was fuller in those areas which helped with weed control. We will be continuing this application program in the future as we feel it was a huge success this year.
Thank you for taking the time to introduce us to this product and we look forward to working with you in the future.”
John G. Dozeman, Parks & Recreation Manager – Town of Nanton (2012)
“Alfalfa Green has allowed us to grow a superior product…”
“Shortly after taking over the Greenhouse in 2005 we were introduced to “Alfalfa Green” and trialed it on some of our container Rose Bushes with positive results. The following season we started using Alfalfa Green as an additive to our growing medium for our transplants. It has now become our primary fertilizer and has allowed us to cut back on both slow release fertilizers and the amount of water soluble fertilizers applied through our injector system.
We strongly feel that our use of Alfalfa Green has allowed us to grow a superior product and the fact that it is an environmentally friendly product is a positive bonus. We also use Alfalfa Green extensively in our Market Garden operation, again with positive results. Our retail sales of Alfalfa Green has also increased with many of our customers coming back for a bag of that “special” fertilizer which they bought last year.”
Murray MacLure – Terry’s Greenhouse & Market Garden (2011)
