Greenhouses

Greenhouse growers know the importance of getting the most out of every square foot of growing space.

They also know that covered culture presents a unique set of challenges when it comes to nutrient management and pest control.  Alfalfa Green Organic Fertilizers are the ideal input for growing indoors.

Application

Crop nutrition can be challenging with intensive growing systems.   Too much or too little can both have adverse effects in a space where every square foot counts.  Alfalfa Green is regarded by many greenhouse and nursery professionals as the ideal input for their crops.  Nutrient availability is simplified because every 4mm pellet contains 30+ macro and micro nutrients as well as amino acids and vitamins.

The risk of salt build-up in greenhouse settings is not a problem with Alfalfa Green.  Our fertilizers do not alter the sodium levels or pH of soils even with heavy or repeated applications.

Application rates of 50-100 lbs per 1000 sqft is recommended for greenhouse production.  Foliar applications of “alfalfa tea” can be made with Alfalfa Green 3-0-2 to give crops a micronutrient boost real time.  Alfalfa Green is the ideal fertilizer for indoor growing because it is 100% weed-free, non-burning, and free of heavy metal contamination.

Results

Greenhouse operators regard alfalfa as the perfect fertilizer for their high value crops.  The water holding capacity plus soil-building quality of the 4mm pellets are characteristics of this fertilizer that make Alfalfa Green unique and valuable.

We started using Alfalfa Green as an additive to our growing medium for our transplants. It has now become our primary fertilizer and has allowed us to cut back on both slow release fertilizers and the amount of water soluble fertilizers applied through our injector system
