Vegetables

A “balanced diet” is the cornerstone of human health.  Growing healthy and nutritious vegetables is no different.

Choose a fertilizer that promotes balanced growth and gives your crops the vigor and resilience to withstand pest and disease pressure.

Application

Alfalfa Green is the perfect fertilizer for fresh market vegetables.  It is a complete nutrient package that contains all the macro and micronutrients your crops need to thrive.  The moderate Nitrogen level promotes plant growth below the surface just as much as above the soil surface.  A robust root system is critical for efficient water and nutrient uptake.  For crops that require higher levels of Phosphorus for root development, or Potassium for flowering, Alfalfa Green Advanced (2-4-4-1) is an excellent choice.

An application rate of 900-2200 lbs per acre is recommended for vegetable production.  For on-going soil maintenance, or fertility for light-feeding crops apply at lower end of this range.  For heavy-feeding crops, and/or intensive production an application rate of 2200 lbs per acre is recommended.  Some growers use Alfalfa Green at very high rates (2-4 mt per acre) with excellent results.  There is no risk of over-application with Alfalfa Green.

Results

Alfalfa Green has a broad range of trace minerals which are especially important for vegetable producers who often grow 30+ different crops in their rotation.  Managing trace minerals in the soil can be challenging which is why Alfalfa Green is strongly favoured by so many growers.  It is a complete nutrient package for vegetable crops.

I grow 10 acres of certified organic vegetables and have been using Alfalfa Green fertilizers as my main crop input for a decade. It is easy and safe to handle, has a more complete nutrient profile than any other product on the market, and produces consistent results with my crops. It improves soil structure and mineralizes the soil with hard-to-apply nutrients like Boron, Zinc, Manganese, etc.
