Land Reclamation / Remediation

Your role in restoring and revitalizing damaged landscapes is vital for our planet.

Our alfalfa-based fertilizer can be a crucial ally in your reclamation projects, offering a natural way to enhance soil structure and fertility, facilitating vegetation growth in even the most challenged environments. In reclamation projects, the ability of alfalfa to improve soil structure is invaluable. It helps to aerate the soil and increase water infiltration, which is crucial in areas where the soil has been compacted or is poor in quality.

Application

Recommended application rate depends on the extent of soil degradation, and the goal of land rehabilitation.

For reclamation and remediation purposes use these guidelines:
1-2 mt / acre — Reconditioning and fertilizing
3 mt / acre — overcome Saline soils
4 mt / acre — where Topsoil has been removed
5 to 10 mt — where soil has been Contaminated with hydrocarbons

Results

Alfalfa Green has been used extensively to successfully remediate damaged or contaminated soils. The high organic matter builds a strong base to immediately improve soil structure. Alfalfa Green is packed with over 30 minerals to return depleted nutrients to the soil and correct deficiencies. The natural growth regulator Triacontanol is proven to help plants grow in stressful conditions such as saline soils.

Results indicate that increasing rates of Alfalfa Green in contaminated and non-contaminated soil significantly increased the vigour rating, biomass rating, plant height, plant dry weight as well as Total Petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) degradation in the F2, F3 AND F4 fractions. Application of Alfalfa Green improved the content of some of the nutrients in the soil at the end of the trial
